What the Amara connector can do

Amara supports subtitling and translation workflows for video teams, including drafts, publishing, and team collaboration. In type.com, a content or localization Space can ask Claude to add a new video, set up a subtitle language track, or leave a note flagging an issue, keeping captioning work and feedback in one place.

FAQ

Questions people ask before connecting Amara

Can Claude manage subtitle projects in Amara?

Yes. With an Amara connection shared to your Space, ask Claude in a thread to add videos, create language tracks, or leave review notes, visible to the whole team.

How does type.com authenticate with Amara?

Amara uses an API key. An admin adds it once when setting up the connection and controls which Spaces can manage videos and subtitles through it.

Can type.com track subtitle progress across many videos?

The agent can check and update individual videos on request. For recurring status checks across a batch, set that request up as a type.com automation that reports back to a channel.

Is this the same as an MCP server for Amara?

Not exactly. type.com uses connectors and connections to give selected Spaces access to approved app tools and data. Some connectors use hosted MCP, while others use OAuth, API keys, service accounts, or custom APIs.
