What the Cody connector can do

Cody lets a business build a custom-trained AI assistant by feeding it its own documents, files, and web pages. A type.com Space can ask the agent to add a new document to Cody's knowledge base, pull in content from a public webpage, or start a focused conversation with a specific bot, right from a thread.

One connection, many Spaces

API and auth details

FAQ

Questions people ask before connecting Cody

Can Claude manage Cody's knowledge base from type.com?

Yes. Once Cody is connected and shared with a Space, the agent can add documents, import webpages, and start conversations with a bot, all from a thread the team can follow.

How does type.com authenticate with Cody?

Cody uses an API key, added once by an admin when the connection is created. Only the Spaces it's shared with can use it.

Can new content be added to Cody automatically?

Yes. A recurring task, like pulling in an updated webpage every week, can be set up as a type.com automation.

Is this the same as an MCP server for Cody?

Not exactly. type.com uses connectors and connections to give selected Spaces access to approved app tools and data. Some connectors use hosted MCP, while others use OAuth, API keys, service accounts, or custom APIs.
